Peri-implantitis treatment

Peri-implantitis is the infection of the tissues surrounding the implant, characterized by the destruction of the bone that holds it. We must be alert to this pathology since it does not cause pain, however, it can lead to the loss of the implant.

The only symptom that can be observed is bleeding when brushing, which often goes unnoticed. In these cases, Dr. Nerea Sanchez will carefully study the state of the implants and will carry out the best therapeutic approach according to the scientific literature.

In all our patients to whom we place dental implants, we follow a protocol for the prevention of peri-implantitis, through periodic check-ups and cleanings, because prevention is always the best alternative.
